The Award Ceremony

The three finalists for each category will be informed on Tuesday 22nd September. Winners will be announced during an Award Ceremony at the HRC 2010 Gala Dinner, held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on the evening of Tuesday 5th October 2010. Winners will be presented with a commemorative plaque and certificate.

The Categories

1/ Charles Lobban Volunteer Award for Outstanding Contribution To Arrhythmia Services 2010
This award will be given to the patient/volunteer who can demonstrate an outstanding contribution to arrhythmia services that has ultimately benefited patients and their families.

2/ Award for Outstanding Medical Contribution to Cardiac Rhythm Management Services 2010
The winner of this award will be a physician who can demonstrate excellence in their clinical practice or who have developed an innovative way of delivering care for patients. The winner will demonstrate how they have developed ways of working that have been, or could be, adopted locally, regionally or nationally and that would ultimately benefit patients and their relatives.

3/ Allied Professional Award for Outstanding Contribution to Arrhythmia Management 2010
The winner of this award will be an allied professional who can demonstrate excellence in their clinical practice or who have developed an innovative way of delivering care for patients requiring arrhythmia management. The winner will demonstrate how they have developed ways of working that have been, or could be, adopted locally, regionally or nationally and that would ultimately benefit patients and their relatives.

4/ Team of the Year Award 2010
This award recognises a team of health care professionals whose work has made an outstanding contribution to patient care, its quality and outcomes. The team should be able to demonstrate that they have worked together to implement an improvement in patient care - this may be through a clinical development or education initiatives. Evidence of collaborative working with all members of the team should be demonstrated and the structure of the team clearly outlined.

HOW TO ENTER

1/ Entries are open to health care professionals or volunteers working in clinical practice, education or research, who are working in or have an involvement with arrhythmia management.

2/ You can enter yourself or a colleague may nominate you. You may enter one or more category. Please indicate clearly which category is being entered.

3/ Each entry requires a statement of no more than 750 words as to why the nominee should win in the particular category being entered.

4/ A panel of well-respected judges, jointly chaired by Professor John Camm and Trudie Lobban MBE will adjudicate the proceedings.

5/ Each category will normally have a winner and two runner-up winners. All three are advised to attend the Gala Dinner at HRC 2010 where the winners will be announced.

6/ In certain circumstances, if the standard of entries is considered not high enough, the judges may elect not to present a particular award.

7/ Short-listed candidates will be invited to the awards dinner and awards ceremony at The Hilton Metropole, Birmingham on the 5th October 2010

8/ The closing date for entries in all categories is Monday 6th September 2010

9/ The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence can be entered into.
